I’m delving into web design. Not the kind where you manage to get Facebook to work, but the grand, .html type of web design that is coded and mystical and altogether repetitive but rather fantastic. For the first time I have crossed over from user to creator, set myself down as GOD of my homepage and, though I say so myself, created something not all together unpleasant. Not that I am brave enough to link it here. Even with a traffic of no-one-at-all that still seems to rash. Besides, there is still time.
The website is what will, hopefully, eventually bind the whole web presence together, giving the Jabberwocky a glorious virtual home in which to gyre and gimble. At the moment, it mostly has silly messages about what I intend to full each page with; another reason why it’s best not impart with links too soon. Rejoice with me though, for I have created something I thought I was going to have to outsource to the more-talented-than-me. Instead I have miraculously pulled forth a unique piece of internet history, which will now languish on the hard drive while I work up the stamina to have another stab at editing the pictures. I never thought it would be the case, but web design is a doddle compared to image manipulation on a free, web-based editor that appears to have been designed for only those select few who originally created the suite.
The difference is, of course, that the web design is on Dreamweaver, Old, outdated Dreamweaver, but a paid for product nonetheless. I know you get what you pay for, I just wish I could stop twitching when I think back to the 3 hours I spent this afternoon trying to make a green diamond not look rubbish.
